Coaching Philosophy

My first coaching aim is to always make sure that the kids have fun. At the end of the day it is all about having fun and enjoying your football, especially when coaching younger children. Though the fun will always be in a constructive manor where they will be learning at the same time. Being enthusiastic as a coach will rub off on the children and they will enjoy the session more, and will
themselves be enthusiastic about wanting to learn and try their best in each activity that we do.

About Me

I’m a professional footballer and have been coached by some
of the best coaches in the world. None other than Sir Alex Ferguson whilst my time at Manchester United. In addition, I was also coached by other members of the coaching team there by the likes of Carlos Queiroz (now manager of Portugal national team) among others.

I have played at the top level and I know what it takes to be a top player. I’ve trained and played with some of the best players in the world at Manchester United and gained invaluable experience from them. I’ve played in high pressure games with Oxford United including the Conference playoffs and scored in them against Exeter in front of many thousands of fans.

I joined Manchester United’s academy in 2002 aged 14 yrs. Spent 5 years within the academy. During this time there were a number of key highlights:

  • Part of the coaching team to Cleveland, America in summer 2005.
  • Nominated Academy Player of the Year 2005/2006.
  • Academy 2nd top goal scorer season 2005/2006 with 10 goals in 22 appearances.
  • Reserve team captain season 2006/2007.
  • Sign professionally with Manchester United July 06

Experiences

The best game I have played in would have to be in Dallas in the Dallas Cup against Real Madrid in front of 22,000 screaming American fans. The Americans love Manchester United and were all so excited to see us. We won the game 3-2 and I scored our 2nd
goal and the crowd went crazy.
Second to that would have to be the reserve playoff final against Tottenham at Old Trafford. The likes of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Darren Fletcher, Guiseppe Rossi, and Gabriel Heinze among others were also playing and I managed to set Solskjaer up to put us 2-0 up and he came and celebrated with me. We won the game 2-0 and completed a first reserve treble by winning the Reserve league north, Reserve playoff and Manchester senior cup.

I am currently playing my football at Newport County Football Club and have joined Sutton Soccer Schools to coach and pass on my playing knowledge to the young people I come in contact with helping them progress and become the best players they can become.
